William M. Backstrom, Jr. and Jesse "Jay" R. Adams, III, both partners in the firm's Tax & Estates Practice Group in the New Orleans office, served as speakers at the American Bar Association/Institute of Professionals in Taxation's Advanced Income, Sales/Use & Property Tax Seminars, held in New Orleans on March 18-22, 2013. Mr. Backstrom presented, "State and Local Tax Issues Involved in Mergers & Acquisitions and Restructuring," while Mr. Adams discussed, "Planes, Trains, Trucks and Boats: If It Moves, Tax It." Mr. Backstrom represented Jones Walker as the local host of the event and acted as moderator for the session titled, "You Asked For It!", which was a discussion on state and local tax issues.
