Bill Backstrom, a partner and leader of the firm’s Tax Practice Group and recipient of the prestigious Paul H. Frankel Excellence in State Taxation Award, presented at the Deloitte National Multistate Tax Symposium in Lake Buena Vista, Florida on February 8 and February 9, 2024. Bill’s panel on February 8, “Envisioning a New Multistate Tax World with Purpose the Next 20 Years,” covered current technical tax issues facing multistate tax professionals and what the next 20 years may look like. He also presented in the breakout session “Pass-through Entity Tax Planning and Prep: Practicalities for Corporations” on February 9, which addressed ongoing state and local tax and technology issues related to pass-through entity tax.
