William M. Backstrom, a partner in the firm’s Tax & Estates Practice Group in the New Orleans office, was quoted in a State Tax Notes article, “Louisiana House Approves Corporate Franchise Tax Phaseout." In the article, Mr. Backstrom discusses the House Bill, 828, that would condition the phaseout of the state’s corporate franchise tax on the passage of the House Bill, 626, that would reduce available business tax credits.
