Governor Tate Reeves has signed a bill calling for a task force of legislators, gaming regulators, and gaming industry representatives to study and make recommendations concerning all forms of online gaming in Mississippi. For years, bills on mobile sports wagering have been filed with the Mississippi Legislature only to die in committee. Perhaps this task force will be the impetus for consensus on a mobile wagering bill with a real chance for passage in 2024, after statewide and legislative elections in 2023.
