Suire, a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property group were recently published in the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) Intellectual Property Committee Newsletter. The article titled “Supreme Court Confirms First Amendment Protection of Trademarks” discussed the United States Supreme Court ruling on the Matal v. Tam case, declaring that a trademark is not government speech, even after being registered by the U.S. Patent office.
