Ellis Brazeal, a partner in the Litigation Practice Group in the Birmingham office, presented “Space Law - No Longer the Mere Province of Governments” during the monthly National Space Club breakfast on May 21, 2019, in Huntsville, AL. His presentation took the audience on a tour of space law history, beginning at the height of the Cold War in the form of the Outer Space Treaty (deeming space to be the province of all mankind, to be used and explored for peaceful purposes) to 2015 when President Obama signed the Commercial Space Launch Competitiveness Act which paved the way for asteroid mining and in situ utilization of space resources.
