Ellis Brazeal, III, a partner in the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group in the Birmingham office, was quoted in an article published by the Birmingham Business Journal on October 11, 2013. The article titled, "Creditors, Companies Turn to Receiverships as Bankruptcy Alternative," focused on the increase of creditors filing for receiverships instead of bankruptcy since the economic downturn. Mr. Brazeal discussed when a receivership might be a viable option, but that most business owners with whom he has worked have not voluntarily chosen a receivership.
