Partner Timothy P. Brechtel has been elected to serve as secretary of the Board of Directors of the SouthWest Benefits Association (SWBA) for 2009–2010. Mr. Brechtel focuses his practice on employee benefits and executive compensation and has been a member of the organization's Board of Directors since 2007. SWBA announced the election of new officers and directors of its 21-member governing board on June 9.

Founded in 1975, the SWBA is a regional nonprofit organization aiming to foster relationships and support the educational growth of professionals involved in employee benefits. Through several professional educational conferences and workshops each year, SWBA provides its members the opportunity for discussion of a wide range of issues confronting professionals in the complex and increasingly regulated field of employee benefits.
