Samantha Oppenheim, an associate in the Litigation Practice Group and a member of the firm’s bankruptcy and restructuring team, participated on a panel at Louisiana State University’s 28th Annual Bankruptcy Law Conference on November 9, 2022. Samantha spoke on the panel “Business Breakout: But Wait! There’s More! Fiduciary Duties, Gifting, Equitable Mootness in Chapter 11,” which covered fiduciary duties of the officers and directors of companies that are debtors in bankruptcy, the bankruptcy concept of gifting, and recent Fifth Circuit cases regarding the doctrine of equitable mootness.
