Jim Kearns, special counsel in the Maritime Practice Group, served as a panelist during the 2024 St. Louis Inland River Seminar on September 17, 2024. Jim's panel presentation “Capital Construction Fund Update” explained how tax-advantaged vessel financing through the Maritime Administration’s (MARAD's) Capital Construction Fund program is now available to inland vessel owners and operators. The session highlighted specifics of the Capital Construction Fund tax deferral initiative in relation to vessel construction, reconstruction, or related debt repayment.
