Sarah Dicharry, an associate in the Litigation Practice Group, published an “Offshore Regulatory Update” in the Institute for Energy Law’s The Energy Dispatch July issue. In the article, Sarah notes that it has been a busy year for the Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Safety and Environment Enforcement (BSEE), which issued several new regulations and Notice to Lessees (NTLs). The article highlights BSEE’s publication of revised well control regulations as well as a new NTL addressing the maintenance of lease rights through suspensions of production and suspensions of operations.
