J. Kelly Duncan, leader of the firm's Gaming Practice Group in the New Orleans office, was recently quoted in the article, "Casinos to Georgia: We'll pay more taxes if you let us gamble," by the Atlanta Journal Constitution and the article, "State lawmakers hear Georgia casino pros, cons in Savannah," by Savannah Now. Both newspapers covered Mr. Duncan's role in Georgia as he testified before the House and Senate Study Committees on the Preservation of the HOPE Scholarship Program. Testimony was heard concerning the licensing and enforcement process associated with casino gaming, as well as, the need for a thoroughly considered statutory and regulatory framework if regulated casino gaming is going to be authorized as a source of additional funding for the HOPE Scholarship Program.
