Jim Kearns, special counsel in the Maritime Practice Group, moderated a panel during the 2024 Inland Marine Expo, hosted by the Waterways Journal May 30–31, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee. Jim's panel presentation “Expansion of the Capital Construction Fund Program” explained how tax-advantaged vessel financing through the Maritime Administration’s (MARAD's) Capital Construction Fund program is now available to inland vessel owners and operators. Panelist David Gilmore, Director of MARAD’s Office of Marine Financing, provided insights and guidance from the success that the program has had in supporting vessel financing in the blue water trades.
