John F. Fletcher, State & Local Tax Partner in the firm's Jackson office, was quoted in a Tax Analysts article, "GOP Victories in Kentucky, Mississippi Could Mean Tax Policy Changes." Mr. Fletcher is quoted in the article saying "This past session was very active on the tax front, with a number of different proposals that would have lowered income taxes and even eliminated the corporate franchise tax." He adds, "those proposals ultimately fell just short of passage, so it will be interesting to see if any are reintroduced when the Legislature convenes in January and what form they might take [in the next] session.
