Friend, partner in the firm’s Corporate & Securities Practice Group and co-chair of the BioTechnology and Life Sciences and Private Equity teams, was a guest speaker at a presentation hosted by the New Orleans BioInnovation Center (NOBIC) on May 16, 2012, regarding the recently passed Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act.  Mr. Friend's presentation, titled "Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act: A New Horizon for Emerging Businesses," detailed the Act and discussed the ground breaking transformation of the statutory landscape regulating the ability of emerging companies to raise private capital and access the capital markets.
