On June 30, New Orleans litigation partner, Cove Geary, spoke at the annual meeting of the American Association of Professional Landmen in Banff, Canada, on the topic of "Corbello v. Iowa Production -- Lessons Learned from Louisiana." Mr. Geary spoke about the landmark Corbello decision, which awarded damages for restoration of an oilfield production site that far exceeded the value of the land, on subsequent cases and legislation in Louisiana, and on how other states are dealing with similar claims. A paper co-written by Geary and New Orleans litigation associate, Eric Whitaker, will be published in an upcoming issue of the AAPL's Landman magazine.
