Mac B. Greaves, a partner, and Sarah Canzoniero Blutter, special counsel, both in the firm's Labor & Employment Practice Group in the Birmingham office, recently obtained a summary judgment on behalf of a food service provider and the owner of the company. The court granted the defendants' Motion for Summary Judgment in a case alleging race discrimination and retaliation, holding that the plaintiff had not met her burden to produce sufficient evidence of race discrimination or retaliation. The plaintiff was a food service manager who was terminated after employees complained of her abusive conduct toward her subordinates. Teresa Isbell, a paralegal in the Birmingham office, also assisted on this case. The court issued a memorandum, as well as a final order dismissing the case with prejudice.
