Jones Walker managing partner Bill Hines was quoted in a March 10 Times-Picayune article titled “Paths for gain after Katrina cited.”  Hines, who inspired the article’s subtitle “Optimist: Aftermath offers blank canvas” with his attitude toward hurricane recovery, spoke at a recent leadership conference hosted by the Leadership St. Tammany West Foundation.  In his talk, Hines chose to view the post-Katrina landscape as a blank canvas, offering leaders a chance to streamline local government, rebuild crumbling infrastructure, and curtail the area’s long-standing history of political corruption.  Hines is quoted as saying “this is an opportunity to do it right.”
