Jones Walker is pleased to announce that Bill Horton, co-leader of the Healthcare Industry Team and a partner in the Birmingham office, has been selected for the 2021 class of Fellows of the American Health Law Association (AHLA). Started in 2004, the AHLA Fellows program recognizes healthcare attorneys who have contributed greatly to both the field and to AHLA. Fellows are selected by AHLA in recognition of their career-long achievements, their contributions and tenure with AHLA, and their continuing service and leadership in the legal profession. Bill is the first attorney from Alabama to be named a Fellow out of the over 125 attorneys selected since 2004.
Among many roles with AHLA, Bill has served as Chair of the Business Law and Governance Practice Group, Co-Chair of the In-House Counsel Program Planning Committee, and a member of the Dispute Resolution Service Counsel. In 2016, he was honored by the AHLA Fraud and Abuse Practice Group with the Patricia Meador Leadership Award. Bill is also a nationally recognized speaker and author on healthcare, corporate and securities law, and professional responsibility topics.
The AHLA is the largest non-profit educational organization focused on legal issues in the healthcare field. It has over 13,000 members, representing the entire spectrum of the healthcare industry.
