The article titled, "Due Diligence: Insight for Ambulatory Care Center Transactions," discussed the large number of mergers and acquisitions that occurred in the ambulatory care market in 2013, a trend that is expected to continue in 2014. In the article, Mr. Horton cited the Affordable Care Act’s "effort to move to a more well-coordinated system of care, with more reimbursement paid on the basis of management and outcome of episode of care" as one of the reasons for the increased level of mergers and acquisitions in the market.
