On March 14, 2020, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 6021, the “Families First Coronavirus Response Act,” which contains provisions related to mandatory paid leave for employers with fewer than 500 employees. The bill, if enacted, mandates that covered employers provide paid leave under certain circumstances caused by the coronavirus outbreak. We anticipate that this bill will be amended to some degree before it is enacted, and we will continue to provide updates as this bill moves through the legislative process in Congress. Continue reading >
