Grady Hurley, leader of the firm’s maritime litigation, arbitration & dispute resolution team, has been elected as the First Vice President of the Maritime Law Association of the United States (MLA) after most recently serving as the Second Vice President of the organization. Grady is a partner in the Maritime Practice Group in the New Orleans office and is also the co-chair of the Energy, Environmental & Natural Resources Industry Team.
Grady has remained an active member of the MLA for more than 35 years. He has served as a member of the Young Lawyers Committee (1989–1995); Chairman of Offshore Industries Committee (2004–2008); a member of the Board of Directors (2005–2009); Membership Secretary (2016–2019); and Secretary (2018–2020). Most recently, Grady served as the Second Vice President and the Chair of the MLA Special Committee on COVID-19 (2020–2022).
“It is an honor to have been selected as the First Vice President of the MLA and I am thankful for the opportunity to continue to help guide this important maritime organization,” said Grady.
Grady’s is also committed to supporting other maritime and admiralty-related organizations, including his serving on the Boards of the Tulane Admiralty Law Institute, the Tulane Maritime Law Journal, and as a Vice Chair of the ABA TIPS Committee on Admiralty and Maritime Law.
