Grady Hurley, co-leader of the Maritime Practice Group and President of the Maritime Law Association, attended the 2025 Comité Maritime International Conference as a principle USA delegate and participated in several panels in Tokyo, Japan. Grady served on two panels: "Legal Issues Facing the Cruise Industry" and "Update on the Work of the Mobile Offshore Renewables Units IWG." He discussed the state of the cruise industry, differences between cruise law and general shipping law, passenger and crew claims, and the Athens Convention. On the MORU panel, Grady discussed the US laws addressing vessel status and the regulatory schemes on the Outer Continental Shelf with respect to the offshore wind industry.
