Jones Walker, together with DuCharme, McMillen & Associates, Inc. (DMA), cohosted the Tax Executive Institute Minnesota Indirect Tax Roundtable on June 4, 2026, in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The event featured presentations and a roundtable discussion in which DMA tax technology professionals and Jones Walker state and local tax partners Kyle Brehm, French Brown, and Chris Lutz shared multiservice technical overviews and industry updates.

 

Kyle, French, and Chris participated in the "Indirect Tax Litigation Update: Recent Cases, Trends, and Practical Implications" presentation, providing an update on recent and noteworthy court decisions affecting sales and use tax, value-added tax, goods and services tax, and other indirect taxes. They also analyzed key cases, emerging litigation trends, and areas of heightened controversy by highlighting how judicial interpretations are influencing nexus standards, exemptions, sourcing, and procedural issues.

 

The Jones Walker attorneys joined DMA professionals to share their perspectives on current developments, emerging trends, and common challenges related to compliance, controversy, technology, and evolving business models during the "Indirect Tax Roundtable: Current Issues, Emerging Trends, and Strategic Opportunities" discussion. The roundtable explored practical approaches to managing risk, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and aligning tax strategy with broader business objectives.
