Michael Leachman, a partner and co-leader of the intellectual property team in the Baton Rouge office, presented to Louisiana Tech's ENTR 430: Innovative Product Design class on May 7, 2026. His presentation "Intellectual Property: Risks and Opportunities" provided the students with an overview of intellectual property law and practical considerations to mitigate risk and protect intellectual property as products move from design to commercialization. He focused on the dos and don'ts of conducting freedom-to-operate analysis, approaching outside vendors, and performing patentability screening.
