NEW ORLEANS—Jones Walker is pleased to announce that Marjorie A. McKeithen, former Secretary of the Louisiana Mineral Board and Assistant Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources, Office of Mineral Resources, has been elected partner at Jones Walker. Ms. McKeithen had served Of Counsel with Jones Walker for the past two years, and co-chairs the firm’s Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Industry Team.
William H. Hines, managing partner of Jones Walker, expressed his enthusiasm for her new role. "Marjorie McKeithen is a dedicated, hard-working attorney. She has focused her practice on representation of the traditional oil and gas industry, both onshore and offshore, in the challenges they have faced in the Gulf, and her work in the areas of gas storage, natural gas pipelines, carbon capture and with alternative energy companies is well recognized. Her practice continues to expand and includes state leasing matters."
Ms. McKeithen received her juris doctor degree from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University, in 1991. Her Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Land Management from Louisiana State University was granted in 1987. She serves currently as an appointed member of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission and is on the Board of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association.
