Nancy Peele, Jones Walker's Director of Special Projects in the Washington, D.C., Capitol Hill office, was mentioned in "Here for the party," an article in the August 1 issue of The Advocate. Peele is one of two Baton Rouge natives mentioned in the article for helping produce the 2008 Republican National Convention, which will be held September 1–4 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. Peele serves as Senior Events Manager in the operations division and focuses on hospitality, including finding local vendors. She also volunteered in the 2000 convention in Philadelphia as a credentials checker at the VIP door.
The 2008 Republican National Convention will host roughly 45,000 delegates, alternate delegates, party officials, volunteers, reporters, and convention guests. Peele plans to return to Jones Walker's Capitol Hill office after the convention concludes.
