Once again this December, 150 bags of shiny toys, 13 bikes, and new clothes overtook the halls of Jones Walker when attorneys and staff brought wrapped Christmas gifts for 101 needy children as part of the “Secret Santa” Project. The project, which is sponsored by the Louisiana State Bar Association, identifies several social agencies serving disadvantaged children who desperately need clothing and gifts. The program benefits underprivileged and sick children area-wide with new bikes and sacks of toys during the holiday season. This year the gifts went to the Children's Bureau. The LSBA/LBF Community Action Committee’s Secret Santa Project provided more than 1,200 underprivileged children with Christmas gifts this holiday season. The project, now in its seventh year, paired needy children with local attorneys, judges, paralegals, secretaries and staff, who purchased gifts from the youngsters’ holiday wish lists. Litigation associate Tara Richard was the team leader for Jones Walker. Jones Walker is proud to support the Secret Santa Project and other organizations that are making a difference in our communities.
