We are happy to report that the Jones Walker offices in New Orleans will partially reopen on Thursday, September 4, 2008, and be fully operational on Friday, September 5, after closing due to the effects of Hurricane Gustav. The Lafayette office reopened on Wednesday, September 3. Our Baton Rouge office opens at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2008. All of our other offices in Texas, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, and the District of Columbia remained open throughout the week. Fortunately, all of our personnel and their families are safe and little or no damage occurred to any of the offices affected by the storm. The delay in reopening some physical locations was due to electricity outages and required inspections of the properties before reopening. We successfully implemented all of our emergency procedures during the storm and have continued to operate from our other offices or remotely throughout the storm and the past week. Our procedures specifically secure the firm's and clients' data as well as provide us access throughout an emergency. Please contact any of our offices for assistance or to reach any one of our attorneys.
