On April 23, Jones Walker presented a Federal and State Income Tax Aspects of Mergers & Acquisitions Tax Seminar at the Sofitel Hotel Houston. The seminar addressed some of the advantages and disadvantages to certain taxable and tax-free reorganizations and provided guidance to achieve the company's desired results for both federal and state and local tax purposes while achieving the economic goals that originally motivated the transaction. Tax lawyers Ruddy Ramelli, Bill Backstrom, Sonny Nunes, and Mike McLoughlin spoke at the seminar.
