Jones Walker's Intellectual Property team is pleased to be a sponsor of the Louisiana Art & Science Museum's upcoming exhibit, "The Curious World of Patent Models," which will be held February 27, 2010–May 5, 2010 in Baton Rouge. This unique exhibit showcases 50 scale, working models of inventions, which the United States Patent and Trademark Office required inventors to submit when applying for a patent from the 1790s to the early 1900s. Many inventions depicted by these patent models are common today, while others are unfamiliar, yet fascinating snapshots of ideas from the past.
