Tracy E. Kern and Laurie M. Riley, both partners in the firm's Labor & Employment Practice Group in the New Orleans and Miami offices, successfully defended a national retailer against a Fair Labor Standards Act claim during a three-day trial in Miami, Florida. A former employee of the defendant alleged that he worked off the clock in excess of 40 hours a week, but did not receive overtime pay. The jury was out only 35 minutes before returning a verdict for the defense.
