Sara Kuebel, an associate in the Maritime Practice Group, presented a virtual CLE webinar on behalf of the Young Lawyers Committee of the Maritime Law Association, to the Carriage of Goods Committee and the Marine Insurance Committee. She presented on the application and analysis of force majeure in light of the COVID-19 pandemic with particular emphasis on maritime law and the sale of goods. The presentation included a discussion of the legal burdens of proof, application to maritime contracts, and historical precedent arising from the Spanish influenza pandemic of 1918.
