Joseph F. Lavigne and Sidney F. Lewis, both partners in the firm's Labor & Employment Practice Group in the New Orleans office, will be presenting at the National Business Institute Employment Law: 2015 Comprehensive Guide Seminar on November 17, 2015, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Mr. Lewis's presentation, "The New Union Landscape," will examine the new "Quickie Election" rule, micro-unit organizing, current rules on employer conduct, and new reporting obligations for company attorneys and Mr. Lavigne will discuss privacy issues and employer risks associated with monitoring employees. The seminar will provide updates on the must-haves for employee handbooks, wage and hour requirements, employee leave policies, and hot-button issues related to social media usage and employee monitoring.
