Andrew R. Lee, co-chair of the firm's Data Privacy and Cybersecurity team, spoke during the Birmingham Business Journal’s Cybersecurity Panel in Birmingham on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. Mr. Lee discussed the importance of focusing on cyber-preparedness as a business priority and why companies should view cybersecurity incidents as an operational risk, and not just an IT risk. He also provided an overview of laws at the state and federal level holding companies accountable for cybersecurity incidents and data breaches that put customers’ personal information at risk.
