Sid Lewis, a partner and leader of the Labor & Employment Practice Group in the New Orleans office, was recently quoted in the article "Trader Joe's workers in Minneapolis vote overwhelmingly to unionize" published by Grocery Dive. In the article, Sid reminds retailers that while efforts to unionize are on the rise, not all employees will agree that unionization is the best way forward. Union employees have to pay dues, fees and assessments and may lose some individual freedoms in a union operation. This may encourage employees at non-union retailers to stay non-union.
