Michael W. Magner, a partner in the Corporate Compliance & White Collar Defense Practice Group, served on two panels during the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC) conference on July 12, 2017, in Quebec, Canada. Mr. Magner participated in a panel discussion titled “Loss of Innocence” which discussed the rise in uncovering wrongfully convicted criminal defendants in the U.S. and the various issues impacting these convictions. He also joined the panel “White Collar Defense and Investigation – Trump Administration White Collar Enforcement and Prosecutions,” with other experienced former DOJ prosecutors and white collar criminal defense practitioners to discuss the Trump administration’s criminal enforcement priorities, what is anticipated to change and what might stay the same, and how United States and international businesses should respond.
