NEW ORLEANS—Jones Walker is pleased to announce that Marjorie A. McKeithen, APLC has affiliated with the firm as of counsel, working with the firm's Energy Industry and Government Relations teams. She will serve as an independent contractor and practice from the firm's New Orleans office.
Ms. McKeithen affiliates with the firm after serving as Secretary for the Louisiana Mineral Board and Assistant Secretary to the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources, Office of Mineral Resources, where she oversaw the granting and administering of mineral leases on state-owned lands and water bottoms. She was in the private practice of law from 1992–2006, after clerking for the Honorable Frank J. Polozola in the U. S. District Court, in the Middle District of Louisiana. Previously, she served as campaign manager to her father, W. Fox McKeithen, for his initial campaign for the office of Louisiana Secretary of State.

Ms. McKeithen received her juris doctor degree from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University, in 1991, and received her Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Land Management from Louisiana State University in 1987. Currently, she is a Commission Member of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission, and she previously served on the board of the Louisiana Board of Commerce and Industry, the organization that administers Louisiana business incentives, including the Quality Jobs, Enterprise Zone, and Industrial Tax Exemption programs.
