Jones Walker attorneys Marjorie A. McKeithen and Carl D. Rosenblum presented at the 8th Annual Energy Litigation Conference on October 23 in Houston, Texas. Jones Walker was a sponsor of this year's conference, which was presented by The Institute for Energy Law of the Center for American and International Law and the American Bar Association's Section on Environment, Energy and Resources.

Ms. McKeithen and Mr. Rosenblum presented on "Post-Production Environmental Issues: Louisiana Legacy Litigation and the Texas Approach," and discussed how Texas approaches property restoration after oil and gas operations have concluded, then compared this to the way Louisiana approaches the same. In addition, the presentation addressed practical strategies to avoid excessive awards and "second generation" legacy litigation, as well as observations from the recent Act 312 restoration plan hearing before the Louisiana Commissioner of Conservation.
