"Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP Extension: What Every Lawyer Must Know and Do," New Orleans Bar Association

Partner Harry Simms Hardin, III, and partner Grady S. Hurley were presenters at the annual Bench Bar Conference, co‑sponsored by the New Orleans Bar Association, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal, the Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans, Orleans First and Second City Courts, Orleans Criminal Courts, and the Maritime Legal Society. The event was held April 16–19 in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Mr. Hurley moderated a panel on the Medicare Secondary Payer Act, which focused on protecting client, attorney, and Medicare interests under the Medicare Secondary Payer Act (MSPA); Medicare's interest in comp and liability settlements; guidelines for Medicare Set-Asides; and MSPA applicability and enforcement.

Mr. Hardin served on a panel discussing the Louisiana Supreme Court's new rules on lawyer advertising. The seminar was intended to facilitate discussions between the judiciary and attorneys on issues involving the practice and administration of law.
