Stanley A. Millan, special counsel in the firm’s Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group, and Louis E. Buatt, special counsel in the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group, presented a three-part environmental regulations update for the Louisiana Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel on Thursday, April 5, 2012. Part one of the presentation focused on the wetlands, with discussion on Clean Water Act issues including permitting, mitigation, appeals, and enforcement. The second part pertained to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (“LDEQ”) enforcement, the Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) inspector general’s report, and air issues.
