Stanley A. Millan, special counsel in the firm's Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group in the New Orleans office, presented on and moderated a panel at the 19th Annual Tulane Summit on Environmental Law & Policy on February 21, 2014. The panel titled, "Montana Mining, Water and Hazardous Waste," focused on the remediation of mining sites in Butte, Montana, including the Berkeley Pit on the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act ("CERCLA") National Priorities List. CERCLA's liability scheme, EPA selection of cleanup remedies, and natural resource damages were also covered.
