Tax Practice Group partner Miriam Henry and associate Hobie Hotard presented at the 53rd Annual LSU Estate Planning Conference on October 19, 2023, at the Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel. Miriam presented “Monster Mash - A Grab Bag of Estate Planning Techniques for Clients with Complex Estates,” which outlined estate planning techniques and potential pitfalls for clients with complex estates. On the same day, Hobie presented “Superstition – Planning for Simplicity and Tax Efficiency with Uncertain Estate, Gift and GST Exemptions,” which reviewed the use of portability and disclaimers in light of the future uncertainty of estate, gift, and generation-skipping tax exemptions.
