Sarah Dicharry, a partner and member of the firm's Energy, Environmental & Natural Resources Industry Team together with Madeline Freese, an associate on the energy litigation team, presented on a continuing legal education (CLE) webinar titled "Offshore Leasing After OBBBA: BOEM Gulf of America Program, Bid Adequacy, and Decommissioning Risk" on April 9, 2026. Sarah and Madeline examined a variety of current topics, including the offshore leasing schedule, changes to the Department of the Interior's approach to environmental reviews, and the revised procedures used by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) to evaluate bid adequacy during lease sales. They also discussed BOEM's regulatory framework governing decommissioning and its proposed changes to risk management and financial assurance regulations.
