BATON ROUGE, March 28, 2016 — Jones Walker LLP announced that Pamela A. Baxter joined the firm's Baton Rouge office as special counsel in the Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group and will be a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Team. 

Ms. Baxter represents clients in a wide range of patent and trademark prosecution matters before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She assists clients in drafting, filing, and prosecuting chemical, biochemical, and mechanical patent applications. Ms. Baxter is involved in the prosecution of trademarks and the prosecution and defense of trademark application opposition proceedings. She also has experience in drafting nondisclosure agreements and assignments for patents, copyrights, and trademarks, as well as negotiating intellectual property licensing agreements.

Ms. Baxter is a Registered Patent Attorney and a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association. She was listed as a 2016 Rising Star by Super Lawyers in the area of Intellectual Property. 

Ms. Baxter graduated from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Louisiana State University, where she received her juris doctor degree and Bachelor in Civil Law, and was a member of the Order of the Coif. While in law school, Ms. Baxter received the CALI awards for administration of criminal justice, advance trademark and competition law, antitrust law, conflicts law and corporate taxation, international intellectual property, Louisiana Civil Procedure and patent law.
