NEW ORLEANS, Nov. 29, 2011—Jones Walker is pleased to announce that R. Patrick Vance, a partner with the law firm, has become a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in America.
The induction ceremony at which Mr. Vance became a Fellow took place recently before an audience of approximately 800 people during the 2011 Annual Meeting of the College, held in La Quinta, CA. Membership in the College cannot exceed one percent of the total lawyer population of any state or Canadian province. Today, there are approximately 800 members in the U.S. and Canada.
Founded in 1950, the American College of Trial Lawyers admits Fellows by invitation only and only after careful investigation, to those experienced trial lawyers who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality.
On Thursday, November 17, 2011, Mr. Vance also was elected to serve as the President of the New Orleans Bar Association, for a one year term, beginning immediately.
William H. Hines, Managing Partner, in announcing the election of Mr. Vance to these two prestigious posts said, “Pat Vance is the quintessential attorney—reasoned, he has excellent lawyering skills, and is dedicated to his firm and to his clients. Pat serves as the practice leader of the firm’s Litigation practice, and provides leadership throughout our firm and in our community.”
