On April 21 and 22, Jones Walker was a conference sponsor of the Ninth Annual Burkenroad Reports Investment Conference held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in New Orleans. The two-day event included an SEC seminar, reception for sponsors and company management, and an investment conference. On April 21, at the Public Companies Issues Workshop, corporate & securities partner Dionne Rousseau, a frequent presenter at Burkenroad Reports, co-presented with corporate associate Celeste Rasmussen the topic, “SEC Update, Overview of New Rules Proposals." Other Jones Walker lawyers who presented at the Public Companies Issues Workshop were tax partner Ruddy Ramelli and corporate & securities partner Maggie Murphy, who were panelists for "'Senior Executive Board Compensation – The Changing Environment," and corporate & securities partner, Dick Wolfe, who served on the panel, "Wall Street Research – New Players, New Rules."
The Burkenroad Reports conference which is open to the public provides investors an opportunity to meet management and to learn more about important companies in the region. Burkenroad Reports provides objective investment coverage on 46 small to mid-cap companies headquartered in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. The reports are written by a select group of MBA and undergraduate students at Tulane University’s A. B. Freeman School of Business who meet with top management, visit company sites and publish investment research reports which are sent to more than 3000 individual and institutional investors.
