Graham Ryan, a partner in the Litigation Practice Group in the New Orleans office, was quoted in S&P Global Market Intelligence, Law.com, and American Banker on the first major Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) agent-fee court opinion in which the US District Court in the Northern District of Florida held that purported “agents” such as accounting firms who helped borrowers apply for PPP loans are not entitled to fees from PPP lenders under the CARES Act in the absence of an agreement. Graham explains that this decision provides insight into how courts will interpret the CARES Act and PPP legislation and regulations in the future.
