Tim Brechtel and Layne Fincher, attorneys in the Tax Practice Group, together with Joe Lavigne, a partner in the Labor & Employment Practice Group, presented a legal update during the US Financial Executive Group (USFEG) 2024 Fall Conference in New Orleans on December 5, 2024. Their presentation "SECURE 2.0 Act, Corporate Transparency Act, FTC Non-compete" offered insights into recent developments under the SECURE 2.0 Act, Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), and the FTC’s ban on non-compete agreements and subsequent court rulings invalidating same. Attendees were members of a financial executive networking group and included employers throughout the region.
