Thomas B. Shepherd III, a partner and Kenneth S. Steely, special counsel in the firm’s Business & Commercial Transactions Practice Group, will be participating in the “Tribal Gaming Legal/Regulatory Update” session at the 2013 Southern Gaming Summit held May 9, 2013 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum & Convention Center. Mr. Shepherd will be the moderator and Mr. Steely will be one of the panelists for this session. The Tribal gaming industry is a $27.2 billion industry that thrives alongside a complex legal and regulatory environment. This session will address what the next four years could bring for the National Indian Gaming Commission, as well as broader issues such as Internet gaming and regulatory authority in Indian country, off-reservation gaming, and the implementation of minimum internal control standards for Class II gaming. The Southern Gaming Summit is the largest commercial gaming trade show outside of Las Vegas and will draw visitors from around the globe.
